Within 30 minutes of taking the call, an ACS account manager in Paris had sourced an available Antonov An-12 with the capacity to take the seven tonnes of cargo directly from Tangier to Vatry, within the client’s budget. Once the flight details were confirmed, the account manager got to work completing all the necessary paperwork to ensure a smooth transfer from the aircraft to the factory.
As well as arranging airside access for the haulier, he made sure all the customs documentation was completed in advance for a swift exit from the airport. After take-off, he tracked the flight from start to finish, keeping everyone on the ground in the loop, including the waiting ground staff at Vatry.
On arrival, the shipment was immediately transferred to lorries which were waiting on the tarmac and the parts were at the factory within 11 hours. The production line was kept fully operational throughout, saving the client a significant sum.
